Researcher (Experimental/AMO)
Areas of expertise: AMO Physics, Quantum Optics, Cavity QED, Laser Systems, UHV, Quantum Information Science
Lead the experimental development of next-generation ion-trap quantum computers. We are looking for AMO experimentalists with skills in operating lasers, optics, UHV systems and electronics, with knowledge in cavity QED and quantum optics theory. Researchers with expertise in MEMS, integrated photonics, and microfabrication are also highly valued.
Researcher (Theoretical/AMO)
Areas of expertise: AMO Physics, Quantum Optics, Photonic Quantum Networking, Cavity QED
Lead the photonic interconnect theory effort at the heart of our distributed architecture. Design and analyze ion–photon entanglement generation schemes, model photonic link performance, and develop quantum networking protocols that connect our QPU modules. Work hand-in-hand with experimentalists to translate models into real hardware performance.
Researcher (Theoretical/QEC)
Areas of expertise: Quantum Error Correction, Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing, Quantum Information Theory
Own the full error-correction stack—from building system-level error budgets to designing QEC codes and fault-tolerant protocols that run on real ion-trap hardware. Work closely with experimental and hardware teams to co-design the QCCD architecture and drive our path toward fault-tolerant quantum computation.
Engineer (Hardware)
Areas of expertise: Light fabrication, Microfabrication, Electronics, Hardware control, Software Development, Cloud Computing, UHV and cryogenic tech, FPGA and RFSoC
Provide technical support for the research and development of quantum computers, focusing on developing key hardware components required for quantum computing systems, including RF and MW technologies, microfabrication, cryogenic systems, optics, and photonics
Software Engineer (Quantum Control Systems)
Areas of expertise: Software Development, control software for hardware integration, FPGA and RFSoC systems
Design, implement and benchmark software stack that powers our ion trap quantum computers. Develop layered software interfaces for hardware control systems, including FPGAs and RFSoC, while collaborating with researchers to develop prototypes and implement quantum control algorithms.
